" . One of the most respected Vigneron's in the Northern Rhone. Pierre Gaillard worked for both Guigal and Vidal-Fluery before starting out on his own, with his first vintage in 1987. Consistently receiving great press, he has since been joined by his Daughter Jeanne. Smoke-accented dark fruits on the nose and in the mouth, lifted by a spicy pepper element. Chewy and Sauvage, showing good energy and a dark chocolate note on the gripping, youthfully tannic finish, elegant and gutsy. Punches above its weight. The Syrah for this wine comes from vineyards planted outside the borders of Crozes-Hermitage and Saint Joseph on granite plateaus.
